Ed specializes in corporate restructurings and mass tort insolvencies, routinely advising debtors, lenders and mass tort future claimants representatives in out-of-court workouts, complex foreign and domestic restructurings, pre-planned bankruptcies and chapter 11 cases.
He has counseled the Legal Representative for Future Claimants in respect to the following chapter 11 cases and/or 524(g) trusts: ACandS, Inc., The Babcock & Wilcox Company, The Celotex Corporation, Durabla Manufacturing Company, Federal-Mogul Global Inc., The Flintkote Company, Kaiser Aluminum Corporation, Leslie Controls, Inc., Met-Coil Systems Corporation TCE Personal Injury Settlement Trust, Mid-Valley Inc. (Halliburton), North American Refractories Company (NARCO), Owens-Corning/Fibreboard, et al., Pittsburgh Corning Corporation, Porter-Hayden Company, Specialty Products Holding Corp., et al. ("Bondex"), Swan Asbestos and Silica Settlement Trust, United Gilsonite Laboratories, and USG Corporation.
Ed has also been involved in other representations including Heartland Publications, LLC, et al. (Chapter 11 debtors), Hotel Equity Fund V, LLC (Chapter 11 involuntary petitioners), Landsource Communities Development LLC (Noteholders), Nortel Networks UK Limited (U.S. Chapter 15 filing), Randa Luggage Inc. (Chapter 11 debtors), and Sea Containers, et al. (Chapter 11 debtors).
When he is not in court, Ed lectures and writes on various bankruptcy and business restructuring topics, primarily focusing on the use of trusts to resolve mass tort liabilities.
