Elizabeth L. McLachlan is an associate in the firm's Life Insurance & Annuities Practice Group. Her practice involves a broad range of insurance issues including those related to the secondary market for life insurance, stranger-originated life insurance (STOLI), premium financing, and viatical settlements. Elizabeth advises and represents national life insurers in actions seeking to have alleged STOLI policies declared void ab initio. Her practice also involves the representation of national insurance and annuity companies in disputes arising out of the transfer of structured settlement payment rights in jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Elizabeth is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is frequently admitted pro hac vice to represent clients in state and federal courts throughout the country. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and District of New Jersey.
Elizabeth earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2007, where she was an editor of the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review. In 2004, she received her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, with honors in philosophy, from Bryn Mawr College.
