Professional Experience: Ms. Garcia focuses her practice in the areas of Civil Rights and Government Liability, Labor and Employment, and Municipal and Governmental Relations. She has represented public and private entities for approximately 10 years. Ms. Garcia also counsels public and private sector employers with regard to a wide variety of employment issues arising under federal and state anti-discrimination laws, "whistleblower" laws, family and medical leave statutes, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. She conducts training for management employees on such topics as sexual harassment and equal employment opportunity compliance. In addition, Ms. Garcia represents municipal clients before the Public Employment Relations Commission ("PERC") and the NLRB, in issues including unfair labor practices, mediations and arbitration. She is also well versed on civil service and pension laws. Ms. Garcia has also defended public and private entities in sexual harassment lawsuits and several discrimination lawsuits, including racial and disability discrimination. In 2008, Ms. Garcia was the recipient of the prestigious Robert W. Criscuolo Award, presented annually by the Burlington County Bar Association to a young attorney committed to the legal profession and the community.
