Elizabeth Stetzer is an associate in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP and a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Department.
Prior to becoming an associate at Barnes & Thornburg, Ms. Stetzer was a law clerk for the firm's Intellectual Property Department were she assisted in preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications both in the United States and foreign jurisdictions.
Ms. Stetzer received her B.S. in Microbiology from Indiana University - Bloomington in 1998, and her M.S. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2002. Her graduate research included the study of viral pathogenesis with an emphasis on disease transmission, regulation of viral gene expression, and viral infection and progression to malignancy. In the fall of 2002, she was nominated for the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools "Distinguished Thesis Award."
In 2007, Ms. Stetzer earned her J.D. cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. As a law student, she was a member of the Dean's Tutorial Society and the recipient of the Intramural Moot Court Competition Kime Stork Award. Ms. Stetzer also participated in the Judicial Externship Program in the fall of 2007 serving as a clerk for the Honorable Tim A. Baker of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Ms. Stetzer is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
