Spouses need to separate in a manner that avoids irreparable damage. Everyone benefits when a marriage is dissolved amicably, but without compromising their case.
At Elkins & Associates, we've learned that negotiating a settlement harms families less than litigation. That's why we first attempt to settle divorce and other family conflicts amicably. Other adversaries can litigate fiercely, then part ways after their dispute is resolved. That's not true for family members, especially when determining child custody. Joy Elkins has more than 20 years' experience in child custody law, including work as a court-appointed advisor, best-interests attorney, and as an attorney representing children.
