Ellen is experienced in many leveraged gifting and planning structures, such as the formation and funding of grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable remainder unitrusts, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, and planning for loans or sales of assets to family members or grantor trusts. She also frequently works with clients owning private equity interests and the transfer of these interests. She has represented families and fiduciaries in the preparation of estate tax returns and the administration of estates, with particular experience in estates holding partnership, limited liability and other family business interests. She has represented fiduciaries in audits by the Internal Revenue Service and Massachusetts Department of Revenue involving gift and estate tax returns. Ellen has over 25 years experience in the practice of law, and has earned several New England Super Lawyer designations in that time.
