| Biography | Ellen M. Bates is an associate at Cooley Manion Jones LLP, where her practice focuses on general commercial litigation. Ellen has experience representing clients in Chapter 93A cases, environmental litigation, real estate litigation, non-compete and other employment litigation, and a variety of contract disputes. Ellen is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. Ellen received an A.B. from Bowdoin College in 2001 and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2005, where she served as a Teaching Assistant for the Legal Practice course, sat on the Admissions Committee, and was a member of the Intellectual Property Society. During law school, she also served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Marianne B. Bowler of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Ellen is originally from Southampton, New York. She currently resides with her husband in Arlington, Massachusetts. |
