Practice Focus
Mr. Melzer's practice focuses on the representation of businesses in all aspects of corporate transactions and corporate finance. He represents numerous clients involved in the establishment, sale or purchase of businesses. Mr. Melzer also has a large intellectual property practice and is attorney of record for more than four hundred fifty (450) trademark matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Melzer handles a wide variety of intellectual property matters including licensing, trademark prosecution, and copyright procurement.
Mr. Melzer also represents numerous clients involved in franchising on both the franchisor and franchisee side. Mr. Melzer's franchise practice includes the preparation and filing of Uniform Franchise Offering Circulars for both new and currently existing franchisors, negotiation and preparation of franchise agreements, and acquisition transactions of currently existing franchises. Mr. Melzer specifically represents numerous automobile dealerships involved in the purchase or sale of their dealerships.
Mr. Melzer also represents clients in the sports and entertainment industries and is heavily involved in the preparation and negotiation of contracts involving athletes, entertainers, publishers, authors and artists.
