Eric Montens is an associate in the Brussels office of Crowell & Moring. His practice mainly focuses on commercial, competition and corporate law matters.
He studied at the law faculties of the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur (1997, jur. cand.) and of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2000, jur. lic.). He also spent one year at the University of Uppsala, Sweden (1999). In 2001, he obtained a Master degree in EU Law at the Institute for European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (LLM, cum laude).
Eric has been admitted to the Brussels Bar since 2001. Before joining Crowell & Moring he was an associate in a leading franchise and distribution law firm in Brussels.
He has assisted national and international clients on a variety of issues concerning franchise and distribution, both in contentious and non-contentious matters. In matters of corporate law, he has, a.o., advised clients concerning the directors' liability and shareholders' disputes. He has also been involved in establishing and monitoring international and national nonprofit organizations. Furthermore his practice encompasses general commercial and employment law matters.
Eric is fluent in French, Dutch and English.
