Érica Franzetti is an associate in the International Dispute Resolution Group based in Crowell & Moring's Washington, D.C. office. Her practice is focused on international commercial and investor-state arbitration. Érica's experience includes disputes conducted under the rules of the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR).
Prior to joining the firm, Érica was an associate at one of the leading firms in the field of dispute resolution in Brazil, where she served as a counsel in complex litigation proceedings involving a wide range of industries, including energy, telecommunications, financial and pharmaceutical. Érica's experience includes disputes conducted before several Brazilian State and Federal Courts, as well as the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Justice. She also participated in arbitration proceedings before the Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration of São Paulo and administrative proceedings before the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL). In addition, Érica provided legal assistance in connection with public bids, including the first Public-Private Partnership in the Brazilian highway sector.
Born in Brazil, Érica earned her law degree from the University of São Paulo Law School in 2000, completed a graduate program in Economics and Business Law at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation in 2006, and received her LL.M. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008 with distinction.
