Erik Haas is a member of the firm's litigation department and Co-Chair of the firm's Structured Finance Litigation Team, concentrating his practice in complex commercial litigation. In addition to a wide range of general commercial disputes, the substantive areas of his practice include (i) complex securities and securitizations, (ii) pricing and reimbursement fraud and False Claims Act matters, (iii) shareholder class actions, (iv) antitrust, (v) products liability, and (vi) intellectual property litigation, including false advertising, patents and trademarks. Mr. Haas joined the firm in 1993 upon his graduation from New York University School of Law where he was presented with American Jurisprudence Awards. Before attending law school, he spent three years with Arthur Andersen & Company, where he focused on structured finance and securitization transactions, and secured his CPA license.

Mr. Haas is recognized by Chambers USA in the area of Litigation: General Commercial. The guide notes that he received “strong praise for his 'good courtroom manner and terrific client service.' He is 'effective across the board' in a range of securities and commercial litigation.” Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC's Benchmark: America's Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys lists Mr. Haas as a Litigation Star for New York.
