Erik practices in the areas of estate planning, guardianship, trusts and estates, elder law, and Medicaid planning. His experience includes:
· Tax-sensitive estate planning, including the preparation of wills, health care proxies, durable general powers of attorney and trusts for a variety of needs (revocable trusts, special needs trusts, irrevocable trusts, QTIPS, QDOTS, minor's trusts, and life insurance trusts);
· Comprehensive probate, guardianship and trust administration guidance;
· Charitable giving, including the use of charitable trusts and other planned giving techniques, premarital planning and planning for families having a family member with special needs;
· The structuring of settlements in probate, personal injury cases and other litigation to continue the qualification of a needy or disabled person for public benefits; and
· Evaluation of financing options for long term nursing home care, including Medicaid planning.
