Gene Giotto is a widely practiced trial attorney whose litigation resume offers a depth of experience in both complex commercial and multi-million dollar personal injury cases. His litigation and trial experience extends to multiple jurisdictions and covers the areas of health care law, medical and nursing home malpractice, industrial explosions and catastrophic injury, toxic tort, general and premises liability, employer liability and insurance coverage.

Gene is chair of the firm's Catastrophic Loss Practice Group and a member of its Commercial Litigation and Products Liability Group.

Gene's depth of experience offers a unique perspective of an attorney whose current commercial litigation practice is accentuated with a natural intuition and practical innovation derived from years as a trial attorney defending personal injury and medical malpractice cases

· Obtaining a defense verdict for a commercial real estate developer and property management company in a premises liability case involving a structural collapse.

· Obtaining defense verdicts and/or trial victories for long-term care provider involving claims of wrongful death, custodial abuse and neglect.

· Successful defense of a national construction general contractor involving claims of permanent injury and horrific disfigurement arising from a motor vehicle accident at a rural construction site.

· Successful defense of welding rod manufacturers in a dispute involving multidistrict and insurance coverage litigation relating to welding rod exposure.

· Successful defense of officer and directors of national steel producers involving issues of director and corporate liability stemming from potential shareholder disputes.

Gene's more recent significant matters and engagements include:

· Representation of an international steel manufacturer involving claims of wrongful death and catastrophic injuries stemming from a furnace explosion.

· Ongoing representation of a university and its athletic coaches in litigation involving spinal cord and brain injuries arising from claims of negligent supervision and training.

· Representation of contractor in a workplace explosion resulting in permanent and disfiguring burns to over 50 percent of a victim's body.

· Representation of a governmental entity involving claims of wrongful and life debilitating impairment stemming from a structural collapse of steel girders and beams.

· Representation of steel, engineering and particle-board companies in multimillion dollar death and catastrophic injury claims.

· Ongoing representation as lead counsel for several long-term care providers in a variety of matters including patient care litigation, employer liability, general liability and regulatory compliance issues including representation of one of the nation's largest long-term care providers.
