Patent prosecution and counseling services to Adobe Systems Incorporated, Provides patent procurement and counseling services to Adobe Systems Incorporated, one of the largest and most diversified software companies in the world. The company offers creative, business and mobile software and services used by creative professionals, knowledge workers, consumers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners and computer programmers. Much of the firm's work has focused on the software and services used to create, manage, deliver and engage with compelling content and experiences across multiple operating systems, devices and media. The firm works closely with the key technical and business personnel to identify and protect innovations with patent protection to achieve the company's strategic corporate goals. The firm also counsels the company with respect to patent strategy.
Patent infringement for leading carpet tile manufacturer, Served as lead counsel for a leading manufacturer of carpet tiles in four cases, consolidated for pretrial purposes, concerning the client's allegations of patent infringement, and the accused infringers' claims of invalidity, unenforceability, and patent misuse, as well as allegations that our client infringed a patent. After discovery revealed invalidity issues, the firm succeeded in obtaining dismissal of the infringement allegations against our client. The Markman ruling on our client's patent, which issued after additional briefing by the parties on draft orders from the court, was favorable to our client. Our client successfully rebuffed its opponents' attempts to obtain summary judgment invalidating the patent. The case ultimately settled on the eve of trial, on confidential terms favorable to our client.
Grandparent adoption, Represents caregivers seeking to adopt children. One of the firm's signature pro bono programs is the Grandparent Adoption Program. Dozens of lawyers have been trained to represent grandparents and other relative caregivers who step up to raise young children in their extended family when the children's parents are unable or unwilling to do so. Working in partnership with local legal aid programs, lawyers accept referrals of eligible families, and prepare and file the required documents to effect the adoption. Hundreds of children's lives have been stabilized as a result of the firm's involvement.
