Eugene C. Kim is an associate in the firm's downtown Los Angeles office and a member of the Finance and Bankruptcy Group.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Kim represents commercial banks, commercial finance lenders, and other institutional lenders, as well as private equity firms and the firm's corporate clients, primarily in connection with debt financings. He has advised clients on secured and unsecured transactions, single-lender and syndicated credit facilities, asset-based and "cash flow" loans, senior and subordinated debt, acquisition financing, mezzanine financing, financings secured by personal and real property, and domestic and cross-border transactions. Mr. Kim has experience across a range of industries, including gaming, healthcare, technology, telecommunications, insurance, food and beverage, and apparel.

· Represented national commercial bank, as administrative agent, in providing $130 million in secured revolving credit and tax-exempt facilities to Native American tribe to provide working capital for gaming operations and funding for governmental functions
· Represented healthcare insurance provider in restructuring and workout of over $40 million in senior secured debt and three tranches of subordinated debt
· Represented super-regional commercial bank in providing $43 million term loan facility secured by real estate to healthcare service provider to refinance existing debt
· Represented publicly traded imaging service company in obtaining $385 million in senior secured term loan and revolving credit facilities (in connection with $200 million private placement) to refinance existing debt and finance acquisitions
· Represented second-lien lender in providing $5 million in mezzanine financing to provider of consumer finance loans
· Represented private equity sponsor in providing $3 million in secured subordinated financing, collateralized by assets located in six foreign countries, to international holding company in connection with equity investment and significant corporate restructuring
· Represented provider of consumer finance loans in obtaining $45 million asset-based revolving credit facility to refinance existing debt and provide growth capital
· Represented publicly traded company in connection with $265 million acquisition of portfolio of properties and assumption of debt to multiple lenders
· Represented middle-market commercial finance lender, as administrative agent, in providing $50 million secured revolving credit facility to multi-brand apparel licensing company in connection with factoring arrangements
· Represented national commercial bank, as administrative agent, in providing $50 million secured term loan facility and $150 secured revolving credit facility to telecommunications company to refinance existing debt and fund acquisitions
