Mr. Mínguez is currently on leave from his position as inspector of credit and savings institutions at the Bank of Spain, Spain's banking supervisory authority. Before joining Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, he developed his career at the Bank of Spain, first as a field inspector, and later analyzing and advising on Spanish and international regulation. He is a renowned expert in all areas of banking and finance, particularly in the administrative regulations applicable to credit institutions.
He mainly focuses on advising credit institutions (banks, savings banks, credit unions, and branches of foreign entities in Spain) on corporate and institutional matters on an ongoing basis, advising them on the applicable administrative regime and on transactions in which sectoral regulations play an important role.
He has advised the firm's banking clients and helped coordinate the advice given to them on recent and technically-complex transactions of great importance in the media.
He is a member of the firm's team of lawyers specializing in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
Academia and Business
A regular speaker at forums (IFAES, IIR, APD, IFE) specializing in commercial, banking and financial matters, and at postgraduate courses and seminars, he also lectures at the IEB and the Escuela de Cajas de Ahorro. He also regularly publishes articles in the financial press and articles of opinion on his areas of specialty.
