Professional Experience
Lee Griffith practices general corporate, finance, and business law with an emphasis on the representation of entrepreneurs, private companies, joint ventures, and emerging companies. His practice also encompasses corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and international contracts and transactions. Lee has handled a wide variety of complex transactions for corporations and other business organizations. These have included the structuring and negotiation of major credit facilities for domestic and foreign financial institutions and borrowers, structuring substantial joint ventures, and implementing acquisitions and dispositions for manufacturers and service companies. Lee has a particular interest in assisting entrepreneurs and so-called "emerging companies" in dealing with the legal complexities associated with growth. He also regularly advises large, closely held companies on new ventures, complex contractual matters, and possible restructurings.
An avid sportsman, Lee retains memories of playing semi-pro baseball in the "Cape League" on Cape Cod, participating in squash tournaments, and touring England and South America for international rugby matches. He now settles for golf and saltwater fishing in the summer and the ski slopes of the Berkshire Mountains in the winter.
Representative Matters
· Spearheaded the acquisition by a phone company of wireless telecommunication assets in several states for a purchase price approaching one-half billion dollars
· Negotiated and structured a new $300 million syndicated credit facility, a complex currency hedging program, and several derivative products for a Fortune 500 company
· Represented foreign companies in connection with United States based financings, acquisitions, and mergers and with the establishment of domestic corporate infrastructure and distribution networks for company products
· Assisted a client in connection with a major cable-television joint venture in Poland
· Acted as principal outside general counsel for several large private financial services consulting and advisory companies
