Biography

Francyne B. Stacey is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long's Ann Arbor office, counseling clients in the areas of employment and immigration law. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (B.A. Ed., 1977, with distinction) and her law degree from Wayne State University (J.D., 1981).

Ms. Stacey's expertise in immigration law includes providing both businesses and individuals with immigration advice and counsel, including preparing and filing non-immigrant and immigrant petitions on behalf of businesses and families. Ms. Stacey has assisted numerous individuals with personal and family immigration benefits in such areas as asylum, cancellation of removal, hardship waivers, religious-based visas, national interest petitions, entertainment and cultural exchange visas, adoptions and family unity matters. She has practiced in various immigration courts around the country to ensure that her clients' rights are protected.

In the employment area, Ms. Stacey's expertise in discrimination and wrongful discharge matters allows her to provide competent, creative and successful strategies to ensure that businesses are compliant with labor verification processes and procedures and non-discrimination laws relating to national origin or citizenship status. She also provides training in these areas to human resources and other corporate professionals.

In addition to practicing law, Ms. Stacey is a dedicated community volunteer. She currently sits on the boards of the Washtenaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Arbor Hospice Foundation and for many years served on the executive committee of the Michigan Theater Foundation.
