Frank Coulom has tried dozens of cases, including over 20 matters tried to verdict, final judgment, or final arbitration decision. Since 2006, Mr. Coulom has been selected for inclusion on the Connecticut/New England Super Lawyers® list in the area of Business Litigation. For several years, Mr. Coulom has served on the faculty of the Connecticut Trial Advocacy Institute, sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Connecticut Bar Association, where he teaches other lawyers how to be better trial advocates.
Mr. Coulom is the coauthor of a book on discovery practice as well as the coauthor of a book on products liability published by West Publishing Company. His practice includes insurance and reinsurance litigation, employment litigation, and complex civil litigation. His employment litigation experience includes trying matters dealing with prevailing wage, disability, age and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, breach of employee contract, wrongful termination, fidelity claims, and ERISA pension litigation. He has also argued before the Second Circuit on labor and employment issues. Mr. Coulom's civil litigation practice has a particular emphasis on civil rights and commercial contract disputes. For the more than 25 years that he has practiced at the firm, Mr. Coulom has been involved in leading cases in numerous additional areas, such as reinsurance, insurance coverage, business torts, and intellectual property issues.
Because of his extensive trial experience, Mr. Coulom serves as legal counsel to the firm on professional responsibility matters. He also regularly represents lawyers in matters of legal ethics and professional negligence and frequently lectures on legal ethics and professional responsibility.
Mr. Coulom served for two years as law clerk to Judge Alfred L. Luongo, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia.
