| Biography | Fred is the Chairman of the Real Estate Section, and has over 30 years of experience in all areas of real estate development, operation, and finance. Fred represents regional, national, and foreign developers and investors in connection with all aspects of real estate development from acquisition through permitting, financing, construction, and lease-up, as well as sale and acquisition of operating properties. He also represents investors and lenders in multi-party real-estate-based financial transactions and loan workouts. Fred has served as the lead attorney in some of the most significant development projects in the Boston area. He is currently engaged in the revitalization project for the 14-acre Christian Science Church Plaza in Back Bay. Other recent projects include the acquisition of over one million square feet of land in the Seaport District of South Boston (the former McCourt property), the 900,000-square-foot retail/office redevelopment of the former Woolworth's building in Downtown Crossing, the mixed-use residential, hotel, and retail development on Battery Wharf in the North End Waterfront, and a 400,000-square-foot intermodal cargo/office facility on the South Boston Waterfront. Other major development projects include Exchange Place, a 1.1 million-square-foot downtown office building, Devonshire Towers, a 40-story residential/office complex, the Four Seasons Hotel and condominiums, and the Esplanade, a 200-unit luxury residential condominium on the Cambridge riverfront. Fred is an honors graduate of Providence College (1966) and Georgetown University Law Center (1969), and is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and Boston Magazine's Super Lawyers. |
