Fred Bass is a partner of Dewey & LeBoeuf and a member of the firm's Project Finance, Aviation Finance and Bank and Institutional Finance Groups. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of asset finance transactions, including aviation, power, infrastructure and other assets. Mr. Bass has particular expertise in transactions involving aircraft and other transportation equipment, including domestic and cross-border operating and leveraged leases, sale/leasebacks, secured loans, export credit agency supported financings, new and used aircraft purchases and sales, enhanced equipment trust certificate offerings, pre-delivery deposit facilities, credit enhancements, manufacturer support arrangements, and workouts and restructurings. Mr. Bass also has considerable experience in financings of infrastructure assets and other capital intensive equipment and projects such as manufacturing facilities and power plants, rail cars, vessels and satellites; in bank and private placement credit transactions, including secured and unsecured lending, loan trading and participations, and letters of credit; and in acquisitions and dispositions of leasing companies and large portfolios of leases and loans. Mr. Bass is consistently recognized as a leading aviation lawyer by Legal Media Group's Guide to the World's Leading Aviation Lawyers, Chambers USA and The International Who's Who of Aviation Lawyers. He is also recognized as a leading lawyer in asset finance by Legal 500 US and equipment finance by Chambers USA. Mr. Bass has recently been honored by the New York State Bar Association as an Empire State Counsel for providing pro bono legal services. Mr. Bass received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1978 and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1981.
