Practice/Industry Group Overview

Fulbright & Jaworski's Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors' Rights Practice Group represents creditors and debtors in restructure, refinance and insolvency litigation, including bankruptcy. We also represent persons buying from, lending to and investing in Chapter 11 debtors.

We have substantial experience in restructure and refinance negotiations and documentation and in insolvency litigation, particularly valuation litigation. We take advantage of the resources of a firm that has broad transaction and litigation experience.

Trial counsel and counsel through a successful circuit court appeal, in a case affirming the bankruptcy discharge of unknown environmental claims asserted ten years after Crystal Oil had successfully emerged from Chapter 11 reorganization., January 2, 2003
Represented Congress Financial Corporation (Southwest) in the Play-by-Play Novelties, Inc. et al., Chapter 11 liquidation. Resulted in Congress Financial realizing liquidation of collateral., January 2, 2003
Represented the successful competing bidder who purchased substantially all of the assets of Stone & Webster, Incorporated, for $700 million in an auction conducted in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court., January 2, 2003
