Gene practices with the firm's corporate & tax group. His business law practice consists of general corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. Gene has extensive experience in the technology and health care industries, including licensing and protection of trade secrets. He is a member of the American and Birmingham Bar Associations, as well as the Alabama and New York State Bars. Gene has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Securities Regulations at the University of Alabama School of Law. Gene is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and in Chambers USA America's Leading Lawyers for Business Law. He was also named by Chambers USA in 2009 and 2010 as a "Leader in their Field." In addition, he was selected for inclusion in Alabama Super Lawyers from 2008 through 2011. Gene received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of the South (Sewanee), and his M.B.A. and J.D. from Vanderbilt.
