| Biography | George Bishop is a partner at Waller Lansden where he has served as Chairman and a member of the Executive Committee. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, particularly transactions involving hospitals, proprietary hospital companies and other healthcare facilities. His practice also includes securities offerings and the formation of joint ventures, especially syndications of healthcare facilities and venture capital financings. Mr. Bishop also has extensive knowledge of antitrust laws and other regulatory issues relating to the healthcare industry. Having traveled abroad on several healthcare trade missions, he has advised the United Kingdom's Department of Health in conjunction with the possible revisions to the National Health Service. Mr. Bishop is recognized nationally for his vast experience with the sale and acquisition of hospitals, hospital systems and other healthcare facilities, especially transactions involving investor-owned healthcare companies. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward White, Inc.) for his work in corporate law, healthcare law and mergers and acquisitions law. He is highly ranked by America's Leading Business Lawyers (Chambers & Partners) in the Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions category. Mr. Bishop was named one of the "101 Best Lawyers in Tennessee" by Business Tennessee, and the Nashville Business Journal recognized his experience in its "Best of the Bar" and "Healthcare 100" listings.
