George W. Powell, Jr.

George W. Powell, Jr. practices in the areas of eminent domain, real estate taxation and land use issues. Mr. Powell represents private property owners whose property has been taken by condemning authorities and has represented clients in governmental acquisitions across the country. He serves as a consultant to the outdoor advertising industry in eminent domain and real property tax matters.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Powell was a principal for 23 years in a regional real estate valuation firm providing litigation support in complex eminent domain and real property tax matters. He served as tax assessor for two New Jersey municipalities and is a New Jersey-certified tax assessor and general real estate appraiser. Mr. Powell holds the distinguished MAI and CRE professional designations from the Appraisal Institute and The Counselors of Real Estate, respectively. He is a member of the American, Florida and New Jersey bar associations and serves on the Eminent Domain Committee of The Florida Bar. Mr. Powell is a member of both the Outdoor Advertising Association of America and the Florida Outdoor Advertising Association.

Admitted to practice in Florida and New Jersey, Mr. Powell is a 2002 graduate, with honors, of Rutgers University School of Law - Camden and a graduate of Bucknell University.
