Gillen Withers & Lake LLC, founded by former Deputy Independent Counsel, Iran/Contra, Craig Gillen, consists of three highly competent criminal litigators with over 60 years (25 as federal prosecutors) experience, often involving high profile matters. The Partners regularly represent clients throughout the Eastern third of the nation, primarily in complex and serious fraud investigations and prosecutions. Mr. Gillen is particularly experienced in representing professional clients involved in state and federal investigations. Mr. Withers, a former Chief of the Criminal Division in the United States Attorney's Office (Southern District of Georgia) has extensive experience on both sides of a criminal case. Mr. Withers handles a variety of matters in the field of complex civil litigation as well. Mr. Lake is highly experienced in appellate matters. The Partners maintain practices representing various types of business clients with particular regulatory and business issues which might expose them to criminal inquiry. Lastly, all Partners maintain a civil practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and motor carrier liability.
