Biography

Glennon is a Partner practicing for nearly 20 years in the area of complex civil litigation in state and federal court. He has served as lead counsel at the trial and appellate level, as well as in arbitration proceedings and the Illinois Commerce Commission. Glennon's litigation practice focuses on products liability defense, contractual disputes, intellectual property, licensing, regulatory compliance, agribusiness and class action defense. He also assists clients with internal investigations and counsels companies regarding efforts to protect intellectual property, reduce litigation, comply with regulatory requirements and respond to inquiries from government agencies.

Glennon has represented clients in wide variety of matters involving consumer products, household appliances, industrial equipment and other products, including patented biotechnology, trademarks, counterfeit goods, process control systems, fiber optic cables, wireless telephones, manufactured housing, steam conditioning valves, emission controls, motors, electrical switches, control valves, water heater controls, appliance controls, ladders, hot tubs, lighting fixtures, socket assemblies, heat tape, tires, tools, natural gas, LP gas and odorant. Glennon's work often involves state and federal regulations, including USDA, FDA, EPA, OSHA, HUD and FCC regulations, as well as industry and consensus standards such as ANSI, ASTM, CSA, NFPA and UL. He has significant experience with investigations and lawsuits relating to fires and explosions and in assisting manufacturers and other employers responding to workplace injuries and fatalities.

Regarding class actions, Glennon's experience includes state and federal proceedings involving advertising, marketing and billing practices, as well as suits filed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. He has worked with lawyers across the country in a variety of multi-firm cooperative approaches on behalf of clients, including MDL litigation consolidating more than 30 cases challenging a client's advertising and billing practices and the use of an All Writs Act injunction enjoining several competing state cases.

In the construction field, Glennon has handled matters involving contract default, supply/procurement, defective workmanship, delay, engineering and design defect, and mechanic's lien/bond claims. His experience involves a variety of commercial, industrial and municipal projects, including one of the nation's largest cement plants, a cogen power plant, a mass transit system, fiber optic cable relocation, as well as more limited projects.

Glennon also assists clients in complying with government regulations and responding to civil investigative demands. Prior to returning to private practice, he served as Unit Chief of the Consumer Protection Division of the Missouri Attorney General's St. Louis office, where he directed the investigation and prosecution of violations of Missouri's securities, antitrust and consumer fraud statutes. During his time with the Attorney General's office, Glennon handled a broad array of issues, including electronic commerce, advertising, promotion and marketing, truth-in-lending, counterfeit goods, automobile leasing, as well as health and safety claims. He also represented Missouri in a variety of multi-state investigations coordinated by the National Association of Attorneys General and in joint state/federal investigations.
