Glynnis P. Burt is counsel in our Litigation Group in Toronto. While Ms. Burt has had a broad range of litigation experience since she was called to the Bar, her practice now lies principally in the area of civil litigation, with an emphasis on health law generally and specifically on product liability, class actions, pharmaceutical patents and professional negligence.
Ms. Burt has had extensive experience in the Superior Court of Ontario, as well as the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Federal Court.
Ms. Burt is a contributing author to Defending Class Actions in Canada, 2d ed. (Toronto, Ontario: CCH Canadian Limited, 2007).
Ms. Burt also has considerable experience before various administrative tribunals. Ms. Burt acts as a prosecutor before the Ontario College of Nurses, and has done the same for the Ontario College of Psychologists. Ms. Burt also defends physicians before the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Ms. Burt received her BA from Queen's University in 1988 and her LLB from University of Toronto Law School in 1991. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1993.
Ms. Burt is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Advocates' Society.
