Gordon Davenport III is chair of the firm's Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice. Mr. Davenport has represented insurance companies in a wide range of litigation matters, including coverage disputes, national class actions, distribution and sales practice disputes, and regulatory matters. He also has extensive experience representing insurance brokers in E&O claims. Mr. Davenport is a leader in the field of Directors and Officers insurance, and has presented extensively on that subject. In addition to Mr. Davenport's work in the insurance field, he has also represented many clients in various kinds of complex commercial litigation, including defense of consumer class actions, distribution litigation, and product liability cases. Mr. Davenport is a member of the firm's Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice. Mr. Davenport is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the Southern District of Texas, and the Northern District of Mississippi. He is a member of the Dane County Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin and American Bar Association (Litigation and Tort and Insurance Practice Sections). Mr. Davenport is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he received his business administration degree in 1980 and his J.D. degree (cum laude) in 1983. He was a member of the University of Wisconsin Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Davenport has been Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system. In 2011, the Legal 500 recognized Mr. Davenport in the area of insurance: advice to insurers. He was selected for inclusion in the 2007, 2008, and 2011 Wisconsin Super Lawyers® lists and was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2010 - 2012 editions in the field of commercial litigation.
