Gordon Sato is a partner in the firm's Toronto office. Since joining the firm in 1979, he has practised extensively in real estate-related transactions.
Mr. Sato has acted in purchases, sales, financings and developments covering the full range of real estate, including office developments, hotels, shopping centres and infrastructure. He has extensive experience with respect to private placement (mortgage bond), bank financing, joint ventures, real estate transactions, fund formation, infrastructure projects and private equity investments.
Mr. Sato appears in all editions of LEXPERT/The American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the areas of property development and project finance and in the 2011 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, in the areas of property development and project finance. Mr. Sato is also recognized in the 2007-2011 editions of Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business in the area of real estate law. Mr. Sato is recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading lawyer in the field of project finance law, public finance law and real estate law and he has been named the Best Lawyers' 2011 Toronto Public Finance Lawyer of the Year.
Mr. Sato received his BA and his LLB from the University of Toronto. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1979.
