I founded this boutique practice in 2007 to provide turnkey real estate law services from site acquisition and financing, through zoning and land use applications and appeals, to the development of common interest community documents as required, through the financing, leasing, and closing of the sale of end units. Along the way, I provide legal services to both simple and sophisticated projects with the same degree of personal service and the same concern for providing cost-effective legal solutions. One area of dispute resolution which begs for reform is in the area of disputes involving condominium and community associations and their residents, e.g., disputes over the collection of fees, common expenses, special assessments and fines, and the enforcement of rules, covenants, conditions and restrictions. Often times these disputes end up in court to the financial distress of both the unit owner and the association not to mention the wear and tear on the community fabric resulting from protracted, expensive disputes. I am now pleased to offer to serve as a mediator of these disputes. The advantage over a court proceeding is the parties obtain mediation by a lawyer who has practiced in this area of the law and in particular has represented over 100 condominium and community associations, as well as unit owners and developers, serves on the manual drafting committee of the CBA Real Property Section which prepares the manual to assist lawyers in creating condominium and community documentation and associations, and has lectured, written, and participated on panel discussions in this area of the law.
