Greg Burgee is a principal in our Frederick Office where his legal practice is devoted to representing a diverse cross-section of general business, real estate and commercial clients, including transportation companies, real estate developers and owners, technology companies, general contractors, restaurants, lending institutions and commercial construction companies in a variety of corporate, tax and real estate matters. In the area of general business transactions, Greg represents area businesses by providing counsel in the formation, operation, acquisition and disposition of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies and in preparing and negotiating various types of contracts and leases. In the area of real estate matters, Greg has assisted and counseled a number of real estate development companies in the acquisition, financing, construction and leasing of a wide array of commercial real estate projects within Frederick County, Maryland. Greg has substantial experience in the creation, operation, sale and acquisition of restaurant and other food service businesses, including matters relating to the issuance of alcoholic beverage licenses. Greg also has considerable experience with the tax-deferred disposition of real and personal property through tax-deferred exchanges. Greg is a licensed title insurance agent for several title insurance companies.
Greg entered the practice of law as an associate in the corporate department of the law firm of Rosenstock, Burgee & Welty, P.A., in 1985, and joined Miles & Stockbridge P.C. in 1987, as a part of the merger of these two firms. As corporate counsel to his business and commercial clients, Greg teams with other attorneys within the firm, providing advice and counsel regarding tax issues, intellectual property, licensing, securities and similar areas.
