Grünecker was founded in 1924. In a period of expansion starting in the 1960s, Grünecker grew from a domestic patent firm to a large, internationally-renowned firm of intellectual property specialists attracting major clients from the United States and Asia. Today we are one of the largest intellectual property law firms in Europe and are constantly ranked among the top intellectual property prosecution and litigation firms in Germany.

Grünecker has more than 45 patent attorneys and 30 attorneys-at-law. We represent our clients before all German civil courts, the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Patent Court, the European Patent Office (EPO), the OHIM, WIPO, German Customs and the European Court of Justice. Our areas of practice cover all IP-related matters, with an emphasis on:
- filing and prosecution of German, European and foreign national patents, trademarks and designs as well as PCT applications,

Moreover, we have attorneys that are admitted to practice in France, Italy and Spain, allowing us to directly represent our clients in these countries.
