Guinn P. Doyle, of counsel in Barnes & Thornburg LLP's Indianapolis, Indiana office, concentrates his practice in environmental and OSHA law. He joined Barnes & Thornburg in 1987 following 11 1/2 years with the Indiana State Board of Health and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Mr. Doyle served as an environmental regulatory analyst with Barnes & Thornburg while attending law school.
His career in environmental management began in 1975 inspecting land disposal facilities for the Indiana State Board of Health. Following the passage of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act in 1976, he moved into various hazardous waste management positions with the state, the last of these with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management as chief of the Hazardous Waste Management Branch, Office of Solid and Hazardous Waste. He has experience in solid and hazardous waste matters and air pollution control issues. His work involves counseling as well as litigation before state and federal courts and administrative tribunals. He was an adjunct professor at Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis where he taught environmental law.
Mr. Doyle's experience with Barnes & Thornburg LLP includes a variety of solid and hazardous waste compliance issues, financial assurance and closure and post-closure plans, Part B permits, corrective action, and environmental aspects of real estate transactions. Mr. Doyle has experience in air pollution control issues such as Title V permit appeals, PSD applicability issues, and Title V permit compliance issues. He was included in the 1993 edition of the Indianapolis Business Journal's "Who's Who in the Environment," and was chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association.
Mr. Doyle is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations. He received a B.A. with a major in biology from Indiana University and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. He is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
