Experience
Guy Farmer is a Shareholder in GrayRobinson's Labor and Employment Group. He is experienced in the representation of employers in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, waste management, transportation, retail, hospitality, healthcare including hospitals, financial services, education, construction, government and government contractors.
Mr. Farmer counsels employers locally, regionally and nationally and represents them in connection with union issues, including resisting union organizing efforts, defending against unfair labor practice charges, appearing in labor arbitrations and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
Mr. Farmer also represents employers in the full range of employment-related issues. He has defended employers in more than 1,000 cases at the administrative, trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts throughout the country involving allegations of employment discrimination and other employment and labor-related matters. His litigation and appellate practice has included the defense of employers in cases involving individual claims, claims by federal and state governments, and significant class actions.

Representative Matters
· Successfully resolved a racial discrimination case in federal court on behalf of manufacturer.
· Obtained a no liability jury verdict on behalf of a Jacksonville manufacturer in a case alleging retaliation under the Florida Workers' Compensation Act.
· Represented South Florida city in successful effort to resist organization by two unions of city employees, including police department.
· Represented major national distribution company in successfully resisting union effort to organize employees at Jacksonville distribution center.
· Obtained favorable results for a Jacksonville manufacturer in two separate arbitration cases involving whether employer had "just cause" to terminate long-term employees under collective bargaining agreement.
· Assisted electrical contractor in successfully resisting effort by Union to organize electricians in Naples, Florida.
· Reached an acceptable settlement on behalf of "for profit" law school in Arizona in connection with charges of discrimination and unfair labor practices by former faculty member.
· Obtained a no liability decision on behalf of a local transportation company by arbitrator under an ADR agreement involving racial discrimination allegations.
· Reached an acceptable settlement in two OSHA fatality cases in Jacksonville.
· Reached an acceptable settlement on behalf of a national transportation company with OFCCP regarding affirmative action plan.
· Served as negotiator for Jacksonville manufacturer in successful labor negotiations.
