Mr. Park has represented municipalities, educational institutions, corporations, boards, and individuals in a broad range of litigation matters including cases involving insurance coverage claims, environmental law, property disputes, probate litigation, and the federal RICO Act. He has represented clients in multiple state and federal jurisdictions at the trial and appellate levels as well as in administrative proceedings.
Areas of Experience
Trial Litigation
Mr. Park has experience in all aspects of trial litigation, including discovery, motions practice, briefing, and hearings. He has:
· Advised and represented a large chemical manufacturer in coverage/bad faith litigation against its insurance company in federal court;
· Won relief for a local educational institution in a probate matter before the Orphans' Court of Montgomery County; and
· Represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal RICO actions involving allegations of fraudulent brokerage practices, banking fraud, government corruption, and deprivation of honest services.
Mr. Park has also gained significant experience in the litigation of lender liability actions, products liability claims, real estate contract disputes, and pro bono habeas corpus actions.
Appellate Litigation
Mr. Park has participated in briefing numerous cases in appellate courts including the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He successfully argued a case before the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, winning reversal of a decision involving in-state educational tuition eligibility, and later successfully argued in favor of affirmance of that decision following an appeal to the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
Regulatory Proceedings
In the area of administrative law, Mr. Park took part in shepherding the application of a gaming company through a months-long competitive application process before the newly created Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, resulting in the award of a gaming license for the Firm's client. He has also represented an applicant for asylum before the federal Bureau of Immigration Appeals.
