Hampson and Company is a highly regarded, boutique litigation firm, specializing in civil litigation.
Our partners, Graham Hampson and Paul Keeble, have over 60 years of combined litigation and courtroom experience, and a proven track record.
The firm's approach to litigation focuses on identifying your requirements, analyzing and advising as to your options and the litigation strategy in a considered fashion, and working with you to achieve that result economically and efficiently. Litigation can be expensive; our experience and objectivity is aimed at accurately assessing the position at the outset, agreeing the strategy with our clients, and avoiding litigation which is uneconomic or which fails to achieve the desired result.
The firm is available to provide advice and representation before any Cayman Islands' court or tribunal, at any stage of the proceedings.
Major recent decisions in which the firm was involved include:
Hewitt v. Rivers et al, a precedent setting 2013 election petition matter in which the firm successfully appeared for the Hon. Tara Rivers, whose seat was challenged in the Grand Court;
Crawford v. Sagicor, a 2013 landmark decision of the Privy Council which changed 300 years of common law on the subject of civil malicious prosecution; and
McCoy v. CIHSA and Jha, a 2013 decision of the Grand Court in which the firm raised and successfully argued for the application of a statutory exemption from liability in an alleged medical malpractice matter.
