Biography

Hans Urlus coordinates inbound and outbound investments in respect to China and counsels clients in respect to all aspects of international trade and distribution, with a focus on EU and national competition law and EU regulatory issues, mergers and acquisitions, as well as litigation and arbitration in relation to these matters. He has worked in the regulatory field, including numerous cases involving the introduction of various regulated products into the EU market. Hans heads the German desk of Greenberg Traurig Amsterdam.

· Successfully opposed a merger involving the Dutch national lottery and two other lotteries.

· Representation of Het Financieele Dagblad and TransFreight Lines, Inc in defending and settling two landmark commercial agency claims under Dutch law.

· Representation of RAI and Jaarbeurs in preventing the Dutch government from invoking the "Dutch clause" under the EU merger control because of deemed dominancy on the exhibition market.

· Representation of European relocation network UTS in arbitration forcing its 40 percent shareholder to withdraw upon its merger with American Van Lines and the subsequent cooperation of UTS with Unigroup to form Unigroup Worldwide UTS.

· Representation of Spirits International in the trademark dispute with regards to Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya with the Russian Federation.

· Represented management of the catalysts division of AkzoNobel in the divestment of that division.

· Obtaining approval from the Dutch Competition Authority for the merger of Getronics with PinkRoccade, creating the largest Dutch IT service provider.

· Advise on vertical integration on entrance to EU markets for New Shandong BeiYang.

· Represented U.S.-based private energy company focused on marketing petroleum coke in its acquisition of 110-year old Dutch company SSM Coal B.V., as regards the European antitrust issues.
