Harold Cares' practice concentrates primarily on insurance defence litigation on behalf of several national Insurers.
He has a special expertise in negligence law as it relates to personal injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents occurring on the King's Highways of Ontario and on Regional and Municipal Roads. Since his call to the bar in 1977 he has continued to act for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, through a succession of insurers. This work takes him from border to border defending the Ontario Government in claims involving highway non-repair and highway liability.
His defence of these claims has generated an expertise not only in the field of negligence law and personal injury, but also expertise in an understanding of every facet of highway and bridge design, construction, repair and maintenance relating to our Provincial, Regional and Municipal Road Systems.
Mr. Cares represents insurers of automobiles and motorcycles, as well as defence representation in cases involving police services, professional liability, products liability and occupiers liability.
Mr. Cares prides himself on his extensive preparation of matters which permits him to identify, analyze, understand and isolate the relevant issues. In addition, he strives to relate the factual information and the relevant issues on to his client in a simple and understandable manner.
He ensures that his clients receive timely and practical professional service, along with effective advice and representation in all aspects of their defence.
