The Harris family first began practicing law in Morgan County in 1872 when Colonel C.C. Harris moved to Decatur to establish a law practice. The Caddell firm can be traced back to 1935 when John H. Peach and John A. Caddell formed a partnership for the practice of law. Harris, Caddell & Shanks, P.C., one of the largest law firms in North Alabama, has an extensive client base and practice in the areas of civil litigation, corporate law, commercial law, employment law, real estate law, trusts and estates, tax law and banking law.
