Mr. Joe received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. Mr. Joe received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
Mr. Joe has written and presented extensively on immigration law. His primary practice includes securing non-immigrant and immigrant visas for permanent resident status, alien labor employment certifications, waivers of removal and inadmissibility, permits to reenter the United States, Citizenship and Nationality, and other related immigration and nationality legal matters for alien individuals, alien professionals, managers and executives of domestic and international companies and nonprofit organizations, foreign investors and traders; compliance counseling and representing employers in Worksite Enforcement proceedings under IRCA, and in litigation in the United States Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, and Federal District Courts and Court of Appeals. In addition, he appears before the United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs and at U.S. Consuls around the world, and the United States Department of Labor and its Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals. He is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Mr. Joe has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1976 and has served as Texas Chapter Chair; Member of the National Board of Governors and held National Office. He has also served as Adjunct Instructor of Law at SMU School of Law from 1982-1994. He is recognized in Best Lawyers in America, 1990 - present; Texas Super Lawyer; and Who's Who Legal and Chambers USA.
Mr. Joe is also a member of the American Bar Association; Dallas Bar Association; Dallas Asian American Bar Association (President, 1999); National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (Trailblazer Award, 2003); American Immigration Lawyers Association; and serves on the planning committee of the University of Texas School of Law Annual Symposium on Immigration and Nationality Law.
