Heidi Guettler is Of Counsel in the Portland, Oregon office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Ms. Guettler focuses much of her practice on all areas of discrimination defense issues. Ms. Guettler commonly appears in court defending claims of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, workers compensation discrimination, public accommodation, race discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and family and medical leave discrimination.
In addition to discrimination defense, Ms. Guettler also routinely counsels clients on a variety of employment practices, including employment contracts and employee handbooks and policies. She conducts employee training seminars, harassment investigations, and frequently speaks on employment-related topics.
Ms. Guettler was the lead associate attorney before the U.S. Supreme Court in the 1999 case of Albertsons v. Kirkingburg, a decision interpreting the Americans with Disabilities Act in favor of employers.
Ms. Guettler has extensive appellate experience, appearing before the Oregon Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a Martindale Hubbell AV peer review rated attorney.
Ms. Guettler received her B.A., cum laude, from Gonzaga University in 1988 and her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in 1993.
