Hillorie A. Leaman is an associate in the firm's Life Insurance & Annuities Practice Group.
A law clerk with Drinker Biddle's Insurance Practice Group during law school, Hillorie returned to the firm after spending two years in private practice as a litigator with Pepper Hamilton, counseling and defending major pharmaceutical companies against consumer fraud, Medicaid fraud, unfair trade practices and personal injury claims. Her practice has included large multidistrict litigation, state attorney general actions, and individual products liability matters. Hillorie's work includes preparing motions and briefs, conducting complex discovery, preparing industry witnesses for deposition, and managing litigation teams in large-document cases. She also has experience counseling and representing pro bono clients in landlord-tenant disputes.
Hillorie earned her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Richmond, Jepson School of Leadership Studies. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law, where she was elected to Order of the Coif, served as executive editor of the Villanova Environmental Law Journal, and worked as a teaching assistant for a first year legal writing and analysis class.
Prior to law school, Hillorie worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over six years. At Forest Pharmaceuticals, she worked as a sales representative promoting several well-known medications, and she was later promoted to national sales trainer where she trained newly hired sales representatives.
