Hoffman Silver Gilman & Blasco is the oldest continuously practicing law firm in the state, having been founded in Juneau in 1909. Today, it has offices in Juneau, Anchorage, and Craig, Alaska, and Arlington, Virginia. The firm takes great pride in its history and the accomplishments of its members, and derives strength from its tradition of leadership.

The firm is involved in the natural resource issues of our state, representing most segments of the timber industry, as well as mining and oil and gas companies, fisheries operations and native corporations.

The firm is also devoted to a broad commercial practice, advising clients on all aspects of commercial transactions, labor issues and administrative matters, and representing both debtors and creditors in commercial bankruptcies.

The firm performs a substantial amount of civil litigation and has developed a significant expertise in insurance defense. The firm represents air carriers, manufacturers and distributors of products, contractors, those accused of professional negligence, including design professionals, attorneys, physicians, stockbrokers and real estate brokers, and a wide range of commercial litigants. The firm represents corporations and governmental entities in employment issues and represents School Districts in faculty and administrators' employment disputes.

The Washington, D.C./ Arlington, Virginia Office in addition provides its clients representation before the Congress, federal agencies, and in federal and local courts in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
