At Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, we strive to keep our educational institution clients up to date on the changing legal mandates while being mindful of the limited resources available to educational institutions.

Services Available

The school law practice group is composed of lawyers with experience in all aspects of school law. Holme Roberts & Owen LLP represents Colorado Springs School District No. 11, the third largest public school district in the state, as its general counsel, provides legal representation to the Colorado School of Mines Foundation, Inc. and the University of Colorado Foundation, Inc. We provide legal advice in school law including personnel, labor, student-related issues, special education, public financing, and a vast array of other legal issues facing school districts. Our approach is to develop experience and keep apprized of all legal developments in the area of school law in an effort to best advise our educational clients in an efficient and cost effective manner. The majority of lawyers who are engaged in the school law practice are located in the Colorado Springs office. We work together to determine the person who is best to handle issues for our educational clients as matters arise. We are also able to draw on the experience of other lawyers in our firm when issues outside the traditional educational realm arise. Through the combined efforts of our lawyers, the school law practice group advises and represents educational institutions in areas, including:
