Howard Kellough, Q.C., is senior counsel in Davis LLP's Vancouver office and practises with the firm's national Tax Group. Howard was formerly a founding partner of Kellough & Partners LLP, a law practice affiliated with Deloitte & Touche LLP. He was also formerly a senior partner of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP.
Howard's practice is devoted to the domestic and international tax aspects of corporate tax, mergers and acquisitions, planning for high net worth individuals and the resolution of disputes with Revenue authorities.
Howard is a past chairman of the Canadian Tax Foundation, past chairman of the National Tax Section of the Canadian Bar Association and co-chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation. Howard has written and spoken extensively on tax matters.
Howard graduated from the University of Denver in 1963, the University of Saskatchewan Law School in 1966 and is also a chartered accountant and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Quebec Order of Chartered Accountants and the B.C. Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has lectured at the University of British Columbia Law School and authored and lectured for many organizations both domestically and internationally.
Howard has an AV rating in the Martindale-Hubbel Law Directory, is recognized as one of the most frequently recommended corporate tax law practitioners in the Canadian LEXPERT Directory (2000) and is included in LEXPERT/American Lawyers' Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada and Law Business Research's International Who's Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers as well as being cited in Chambers & Partners Global, The World's Leading Lawyers 2004-2007 as a leading Canadian corporate tax lawyer and recognized in the International Tax Reviews' Euromoney Legal Group Guide to the World's Leading Tax Advisors.
