| Biography | Law Review Boston University Journal of Science and Technology. Howard P. Goldberg is an associate with Cooley Manion Jones LLP, where his practice focuses on a variety of complex business and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Cooley Manion Jones, Howard was an associate at Foley Hoag LLP in Boston. Howard has experience representing clients involved in contract disputes, environmental litigation, commercial real estate disputes, products liability litigation, and securities litigation. Howard also has significant experience with a variety of settlement mechanisms, including formal arbitration proceedings and court-assisted mediation programs. Howard's recent matters include: ·Represent multi-billion dollar company in environmental indemnification dispute against DuPont. Howard's responsibilities on the case include managing discovery across the United States and abroad and resolving discovery disputes across myriad issues in the case. ·Working with Harry Manion and Chris Cunio, represented one of the largest pension funds in Holland in connection with a dispute with Street Bank & Trust Company, and assisted Dutch co-counsel from De Brauw Westbroek Blackstone N.V. in filing litigation in Amsterdam against State Street Global Advisors, Ltd. (UK). Assisted Mr. Manion and Mr. Cunio in negotiating a final settlement of all claims pending in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and Holland between the Pension Fund and State Street, the terms of which are confidential. ·Served as second chair lead counsel and assisted Jennifer Furey in successfully. representing one of the world's largest commercial real estate development companies to verdict at trial in connection with a dispute over the right to control a valuable parcel of property in Boston's Seaport District. In addition to his case responsibilities, Howard serves on the e-discovery committee for Cooley Manion Jones LLP and has significant experience advising clients on e-discovery best practices, including legal holds, data preservation, and data production, working with e-discovery vendors and consultants, and managing e-discovery in anticipation of, during, and after litigation. Howard received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999, and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law where he was a member of the Journal of Science and Technology Law. Howard is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations. Howard is originally from Swampscott, Massachusetts. He and his wife, Jen and his son, Wes, now reside in Boston. |
