The firm was founded in Panama City, Republic of Panama, in the year of 1920 by Dr. Juan Lombardi, who had just retired as President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Panama and Dr. Carlos Icaza A., who had recently graduated as an attorney from Yale University. Later on Dr. Francisco González-Ruiz and Dr. Roberto R. Alemán became members of the firm. In 1950, after the death of Dr. Lombardi, the name of the firm was changed from Lombardi & Icaza to Icaza, González-Ruiz & Aleman.
The firm is engaged in the general practice of law, with a staff of 32 lawyers, supported by more than 175 employees.
