The Firm was founded in Indianapolis on April 28, 1910, when three general practitioners formed a partnership under the name of Henley Matson Gates. The Firm experienced continuous growth and acquired a national reputation and a national practice. The Firm presently consists of over 250 lawyers and 40 paraprofessionals, and an additional 290 staff employees, making it the largest law firm in Indianapolis.
