Irene Barberena is a counsel in the firm's Washington, DC office. Her practice primarily involves corporate transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private debt and equity financing transactions and other commercial transactions. She also advises companies on corporate governance and general corporate matters and has extensive experience with public company disclosure issues and 34 Act compliance and reporting. Irene has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including technology, life sciences, government contracting, manufacturing, retail, energy, and financial services.
Irene received a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University and earned a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2001.
Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Irene worked at several major firms where she gained significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and emerging growth companies, and public companies and securities.
Irene is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (inactive).
